a blog on pause....

the little thing-a-ma-jig that sticks into the cord that plugs into the wall is broken.. again.. we literally just got the laptop out of the shop a week and a half ago for the same problem...so, back it goes... without a home computer, we won't be able to update the blog, but it should only be a few days..

the rest of the weekend..

Aside from football, we cleaned closets, donated a lot of clothes to Cooper, ate dinner outside with all the neighbors and Troy played a little poker (he won)... on Sunday, we took the kids to church with the Sippels, and then Justin came over to learn how to make monkey bread (it's nice to have a fan of my cooking).. The boys and I went to Nikki's for "Noah's Bee Movie Party", which included decorating cupcakes.... good times with good friends.. the perfect weekend..

1st games of the season..

Our very first game started at 9 am, which meant that all Panthers (Riley) had to be ready to practice by 8:15.. a little early on a Saturday morning in my opinion.... ;)

Riley did a fantastic job at his first game, skipping on and off the field anytime it was his turn to play or come out.. He listened to the coach really well, and typically ran in the general direction of the ball.. of course, he looked to the sidelines from time to time to make sure we were all watching him... they won 26-7..

Thankfully, the Redskins (Taggert) had their game start at 10.. this is his second season, and he assures us he remembers all the plays.. He played quarterback and did great.. they won 18-6..

Football news..

Thursdays mean flag football practice.. Taggert & Troy came home with news that Taggert has been made the Redskins' quarterback.. I believe the quote from the coach was that Taggert was a "natural athlete".. At Riley's practice, we experienced some technical difficulties.. he kept complaining about his brand new cleats.. he said they were too tight (which, they seemed to be). I blamed it on the fact that Troy likes to buy little boy shoes in their exact size- rather than a size up.. throughout practice Riley complained about his left shoe.. at one point he was limping.. near the end of practice he was almost crying.. finally, he came to me and wouldn't go back on to the field. I took off his shoe and there was a definite crease on his big toe.. several of our neighbors have kids on the team, and they listened as I shared about Troy and shoes.. how he's going to have to take these shoes back.. and on.... then I saw it, the large wad of paper shoved up in the toe of the shoe... Steve couldn't reach for the phone fast enough to call Troy (he didn't get him).. Riley & I came home and shared the story, with me, ready to admit how I was wrong for jumping to the conclusion that it was Troy's fault.. before I could finish the story, Troy said "on no! I forgot to take all of the paper out of his shoes.. I should've checked that".. see?... it was Troy's fault... ; )

Received this precious picture yesterday... hard to believe Allan has 3 little guys at home now.. from the looks of this picture, it seems like big brother is thinking the same thing now that the twins are here.. :)

I passed my CLU exam today, Fundamentals of Estate Planning.. Lots of information, learned just enough to be dangerous, and to understand the importance hiring an expert in these matters..

Easter Sunday

The Easter Bunny was sneaky in the Hudson household, and left eggs all over the house for the boys to find.. by the end of the day, Daddy had to give the boys a couple of hints to help them find some eggs they had overlooked.. after filling up their baskets, we joined the Sippels for church.. which meant even more Easter candy that was dropped via helicopter for all the kids in Sunday school.. after sucessfully securing all candy from the boys, we joined the rest of the neighbors at the Sippels for brunch.. which included a small confetti egg fight- I think Nikki won..
